How to take care of your piercing(s):
Always wash your hands prior to cleaning your piercing.
Sterile Saline should be sprayed directly on the piercing twice a day. If wiping is necessary we recommend using non-woven gauze.
Water rinse well in the shower.
Change all bedding regularly. You do not want that bacteria to get into your piercing(s) and cause problems.
At first, your jewelry will have some excess length in case of swelling. Your piercer will suggest if/when you should come in to downsize, it can be very important to healing most piercings!
Make sure you can feel the front and back of your jewelry while cleaning. If you notice your jewelry may be embedding, come see your piercer immediately!
What to AVOID with your piercing(s):
Do not twist, spin, or otherwise touch your piercing except when cleaning, as this can damage and introduce bacteria to the piercing site.
NO creams, ointments, antibacterial soap, rubbing alcohol, peroxide, ear care solution, or other alternative aftercare methods.
NO cotton balls or q-tips, as the fibers can get stuck on the jewelry or enter the piercing channel causing irritation.
NO submerging the piercing in any body of water
NO tanning beds, and spray tanner
NO make-up, lotion, facial cleanser, or other products on your piercing(s).
No one is allowed to touch your piercing(s) but you, and the only time you are allowed to touch it is with clean hands while cleaning your piercing(s).
Keep tight clothing off your piercing(s) while healing, it will slow your healing process.
Do not sleep, lean, or put pressure on your piercing(s) while healing, as much as possible.
Redness, bruising, and swelling is NORMAL. There may be a yellowish-white discharge from the entrance and exit point of the piercing(s). This is lymph, a by-product of skin cell development.
DO NOT TOUCH IT! It will come off when you clean your piercing(s).
